To start, select Issues from the Windows menu item to display the Issues window. When the window is first displayed, the fields will be filled in with the first issue record already contained in the database. If there are no issues entered previously, the window will appear with all the fields blank and only the New button active.
Press the New button to enter a new issue and the window will as shown below.
In the picture below it is shown that the album title is entered and the label name is in the process of being entered. Label is a lookup field so typing the letters "or" in the label field cause several selections to appear in the selection list. We will choose the Original Jazz Classics label. Clicking on that selection will complete the label entry.
The Artist field is also a lookup field and should be handled just as described for the Label field above.
The picture below shows the window as it would be filled and just before it would be saved. The Format popup menu has CD selected. Notice the Issue Date field is filled in as January 1, 1991. This is an approximate date because we only know the year the cd was released. Approximation is indicated by clicking the Circa checkbox. The On Hand checkbox is clicked because the cd is in possession of the discographer. The Volumes field already had a default value of 1 which was correct in this case, but it could be changed to any numeric value to indicate the number of items in a multi-volume set.
The picture below shows the window after the Save button is pressed.
Now that the cd is entered in the database, the performances can be added to the cd. Select Tracks from the Windows menu to open the Performances On Issue window.
