Born August 21, 1928 in Council Bluffs, Iowa.
Grew up in Los Angeles, California. Worked with Lionel Hampton (1952-1953), Gigi Gryce (1954-1956), Oscar Pettiford (1956-1957), Horace Silver (1957) and Gerry Mulligan (1958). Also made numerous recordings for Blue Note, Prestige, abc-Paramount and RCA.

Born January 25, 1929 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
Early associates included Ray Bryant, John Coltrane, Jimmy Heath, Philly Joe Jones. Studied music at Howard University, then worked with Bull Moose Jackson, Tadd Dameron (1953), Lionel Hampton (1953), Earl Bostic (1954-1956), Dizzy Gillespie (1956-1957), and Art Blakey (1958).
Born December 15, 1934 in Detroit, Michigan.
Took up baritone horn beginning in senior year of high school, then trombone. Played in Army band with Cannonball Adderley and Junior Mance from 1953-1955. Worked with guitarist Kenny Burrell and Yusef Lateef in Detroit before moving to New York in 1957.
While this is the most comprehensive and accurate discography on The Jazztet ever produced, there still may be omissions and errors. Please help if you can.
